This collection of prints was created for a Kate Spade inspired kitchen linen collection. Three engineered prints and three repeat prints were designed. To create the illusion of sparkles without using metallic inks a repeat pattern was created to mimic the highlights and shadows human eyes see when viewing sequin. This repeat pattern was then used to fill in motifs and stripes. Throughout the prints words associated with baking and eating desserts are used as motifs along with hand drawn motifs of cutlery.
The engineered apron and kitchen towel were then printed and constructed for the kitchen photos seen below. Other images are repeat tiles and texture mapped representations of potential uses.
Designs were created on Lectra Kaledo Print, texture mapping created using Adobe Photoshop CC. Fabrics printed on Mutoh MC3 Digital Textile Printer with Yuhan-Kimberly nano-pigments on 100% cotton sateen.
All prints and products are original work by Rysa Ruth.
